Neurodiagnostics
Neurology as the science of the nervous system with EEG-based diagnoses, which are also of great relevance in sleep medicine, can be hence seen as a related field.
The recording of EXG signals in the polysomnography measurement therefore also enables statements to be made or provides indications of certain patterns of neurological diseases such as epilepsy. Sleep medicine examinations in this area range from actigraphy, insomnia and long-term outpatient EEG measurements to routine inpatient EEG.
